Purpose | To begin the recruitment process for a staff position. | |
When | When an existing position has been vacated or after a new position has been created. | |
Timeframe | Personnel Requisition Forms received by Monday noon will be posted the Wednesday at 12:01 am. | |

Process Overview
| Step 1. | Complete the Personnel Requisition Form (PR) once you receive e-mail notification that the position has been created or for existing positions anytime after the letter of resignation has been received. |
Step 2. | Obtain the authorizing signatures. For Departments reporting to the Provost, all recruitment forms including the Personnel Requisition will need to be signed by the Vice Provost Academic Affairs prior to coming to HR. | |
Step 3. | Route the PR electronically to HR. Hard copy PR with appropriate signatures must be sent to Staff Recruiting, 113 Centennial Hall. | |
Step 4. | HR will verify the position information and fax copy to the Budget Office. | |
Posting Period | The type of position and the extensiveness of the recruiting effort generally determines the posting period. At a minimum, the position will be posted for one week. Applications can be submitted until midnight of the application deadline date. Applications and any attached resumes can only be received electronically through eRecruit. Any paper copies submitted to Human Resources or to the department directly cannot be considered. | |
HR Screening of Applications | At the end of the posting period a recruiter screens all applications against the minimum qualifications set forth in the Position Classification Specification assigned to this position. | |
